Assignment 3A: Your Entrepreneurship Story
The most memorable time I was exposed to entrepreneurship was in my sophomore year of college. At the time, I was taking financial accounting. Students were given extra credit in the course if they went to see a guest speaker on campus. I needed the extra points, so I attended the event. The guest speaker was a young entrepreneur who built a successful fitness supplement company. During his talk he provided insight into his journey of realizing his dream of building and owning his own company. I was amazed by the perseverance and determination that this man had. He went into great detail about the repeated rejection and failure that came his way time and time again during the pursuit of his vision. His ability to work through the multitude of failures that he faced during his journey to success was incredible to me. The passion I heard in his voice when he spoke about his company inspired me. It made me want to invest myself into something that made my heart burn with the same flame that his supplement company did for him.
The reason I enrolled in this course was because of the inspiration that was provided to me during that guest speaker’s talk. I wanted to learn what it meant to be an entrepreneur, and what steps were necessary in order for one to realize one’s dream of building and running one’s own business. What I hope to get out of the class is the knowledge necessary for me to start to develop a plan for a future business of mine. I hope this class will provide me with the knowledge and skills necessary to turn my vision into a reality.

That is a great story of passion for entrepreneurial ship being built. It is a good lesson to learn that sometimes it takes time and perseverance. You may fail several times before finding success. I am glad to see that this was a topic of discussion during the talks.
