Assignment 18 - Create a Customer Avatar

Assignment 18 - Create a Customer Avatar

My prototypical customer, let’s call him Tyler, is a college student here at the University of Florida. He is an avid concert-goer and loves the outdoors. You’ll spot him cruising by campus in a grey 2007 Toyota Corolla. He watches all of the shows typical college students do such as The Office, Parks and Recreation, and Game of Thrones. He’s a single 20 year old with out any children (adopted or otherwise). He loves the Harry Potter series and any politician that’s a Democrat. The only thing missing from his life is a portable chair that he can count on during his many adventures.

Final Questions:

The things I have in common with my customer avatar are age, number of children, level of education, and hobbies. I do not think it is a coincidence that I have things in common with my customer avatar. For me to generate the idea for a product that is aiming to solve someone’s problem I must have that problem myself. That means that I would have a lifestyle similar to my customer to some extent.

  1. Hey Alex, I can clearly envision your avatar. You did a good job describing him. However, I'm not sure how some of these details may pertain to why he would want to purchase your product. I can see him using this chair at the concerts he goes to or on a camping trip, but I'm not sure why his political affiliation would pertain. I know the assignment used this detail as an example on how to describe the avatar, but I think that describing details or aspects about the avatar that are more pertinent to why he or she may want your product will be beneficial for reflection as well.

  2. Hey Alex,
I think you did a great job with the details of your avatar especially in the sense that you’re making him more relatable to everyday people. I can clearly see him as a customer.
    Great job.
